6   Engage in professional learning

I aim to continually learn, improve, reflect, develop and grow as a teacher and hope to inspire and make a difference to all the students I come across.   Personal research, professional learning and self-development are crucial to effective teaching and best practice.  I constantly review and reflect on my teaching pedagogy and am not afraid to make mistakes. Mistakes are only lessons to be learned.  It is through continual reflection that development toward becoming a highly effective teacher can occur.

7   Engage professionally with                         colleagues, parents/carers and the           community

I believe schools, parents and the community should work together to promote effective education of all students. Communication and collaboration is paramount to the delivery, sharing and creating of positive learning experiences for all students. Communicating with colleagues, parents/carers and the community allows for collaborative discussions and decision making ensuring that all viewpoints are considered when considering what is best for students learning, health and wellbeing.
