2 Know the content and how to teach it
2.3 Curriculum, assessment and reporting
Use curriculum, assessment and reporting knowledge to design learning sequences and lesson plans.
Below is an example of how I use the EYLF planning cycle, consisiting of obseerve, question, plan, act and reflect. On the far left their is a checklist I made based on a "cold task" writing sample that I collected prior to my prac so that I was able to observe what the cohort and individuals required from my writing learning sequence. From these samples I made 3 Ability Based groups that were the children's learning groups in our Writing Block, however, these remained flexible based on what the children's individual goals were each week. I referred to the EYLF and SCSA documents when planning my series of 10 lessons. I planed for and provided my students with intentional teaching strategies and reflected in my Daily Workpad after each lesson, so as, to inform my following week's lessons. To conclude the unit, the children wrote a "hot task" writing sample that could be compared to their first sample to assess and report on growth.
